Due: Wednesday, January 3rd at 6pm Description: Theatre Western’s Purple Shorts is an annual student written, student directed, and student performed one-act play festival. The festival showcases 6 20-minute plays over the course of two evenings at the Wave. All plays are performed in black-box theatre. As a Director for the Purple Shorts festival, you will select one of the submitted plays as provided to you by Theatre Western, cast the play in an audition process that is shared amongst all six directors, and direct the play for performance in February of 2018. Time Commitment: Director’s attendance at auditions is required (dates indicated below). Directors are expected to dedicate several hours each week for rehearsals and play preparation. Directors are also required to be at tech rehearsal the weekend prior to the festival. Your directed play will be chosen to perform on one of the two festival dates, according to cast availability. Directors must be available on all of the following dates: Auditions: January 13th & 14th Tech Rehearsal: February 10th or 11th (must be available both dates) Festival: February 13th & 14th
