What is OUSA?

The Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA) is a coalition of student associations from across Ontario. They have come together to protect the interests of Ontario’s undergraduate students by providing research and ideas to governments on how to improve the affordability, accessibility, accountability and quality of post-secondary education in the province. These elected student representatives work together to set OUSA’s policies and direction. The organization approaches its goal of advancing the needs of undergraduate students through five means: direct lobbying, public advocacy, issue awareness campaigns, research & policy solutions and building partnerships. As a Western delegate at an OUSA General Assembly, you’ll represent students’ interests on various issues and work to evaluate solutions for problems students are facing through breakout policy sessions and passing policy recommendations in plenary.

This year the policy papers that will be debated and edited are on Sexual Violence Prevention and Response, International Students, and Rural and Northern Students.
